Click on The Links Below 1. GETTING STARTED Q: I have never collected or invested in ancient jade before. What is the best way to start? A:
The first step is to find a reliable
expert source for authentic ancient jade
artifacts. I live in the United States and I have studied and collected
ancient jade artifacts from around the world for over 33 years. Many of the Chinese and Hong Kong dealers on Ebay lack both
integrity and expertise in the field of ancient jades. I have heard of
repeated horror stories of people buying jade on Ebay from Hong Kong and
China dealers only to discover they had bought fake jade carvings of
very bad quality or even worse, Soapstone. When you find an expert source make sure there is guarantee of money back satisfaction. In addition your expert source is using a strict methodology in ascertaining the date of origin and the type of material the artifact is fashioned from. My 33 years of specialization and expertise in the field of ancient jades has given me the expert tools to grade ancient jades for value, beauty, rarity and of course, authenticity. Please check out the button below for the grading criteria system II use. Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed. Q: I started to collect ancient jade but I really don’t know what type of jade to collect.
It can be fun to LEARN about the history, value, and rarity of ancient jades. My website can offer you guidance and my 33 years of expertise is at your service. I consider myself a guide who gladly assists adventurers who travel The Jade Road in search of ancient jade treasures. I am honored to share my love, excitement, passion and my private collection of ancient jade treasures with fellow Jade Road Adventurers.
2. COLLECTING and INVESTING
Q: Is ancient jade a very good investment? A. Authentic ancient jade is a fantastic investment if you acquire from expert sources. The primary reason for this is because ancient jade has always been more valuable than gold. Currently the ancient jade market is experiencing an anomaly that has never occurred in the known history of the jade market. Currently the prices of authentic ancient jade are at an all time low. The primary reason for this is the plundering of the Yellow river basin (Three Gorge Dam) and the opening of China to the west: all creating a bubble supply. Ancient jade of authentic quality is scarce, and the majority of the jade offered on Ebay from Chinese dealers is of such a low quality that even the Chinese do not want it (export quality to the west). This low quality jade is not a sound investment nor will it ever be. If you can acquire ancient jade of authentic quality then you will become the source for tomorrow’s treasure hunters. Values of ancient jade could easily double or triple in the next few years and exceed their historic levels. Always demand a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY for each specimen you purchase. All of my ancient jade artifacts come with a Certificate of Authenticity attesting to both their origin and their genuineness.
Q: What is the best way to build a sound strategy for collecting or Investing in Jade ancient jade? A.
Create a budget or a fund for collecting and investing in ancient jade.
A sound strategy is one that has purpose and a plan. Currently the
global stock markets are showing tremendous signs of weakness because
they are built on paper making supply out strip demand. Ancient jade on
the other hand is a Tangible asset this is extremely rare in supply and
can not be reproduced. In the near future demand will greatly out strip
supply causing the ancient jade values to rise rapidly and greatly.
Q. What are some of the Categories of ancient jade? A: Ancient jade has a multitude of categories to choose from. Here are ten categories that I suggest you explore:
It is best to concentrate on only one or two of these categories at most. This will allow you to become a specialist and to achieve a level of expertise in a short time span. Also, you will be able to build a very rare and valuable collection (not to mention fulfilling).
Q: What is the best Dynasty or Era in Chinese History to start with? A: The answer to this question is “your own preference”. If you are seeking rarity and age then the Neolithic jades will be your wise choice. If you are seeking very refined carving and craftsmanship then late Zhou and Han Dynasty are excellent choices. The latter periods from Tang Dynasty to Qing Dynasty also wield excellent specimens.
3. DATING and AUTHENTICITY
Q: What kind of scientific methods are used in dating Chinese archaic jade? A: Currently there are no proven Scientific methods employed to date jade (like carbon 14). The description and dating techniques are based on my 30 years experience, Chinese experts, Historians, and Jade collectors that share in the passion of collecting and studying these rare and ancient treasures. Each ancient jade specimen comes with a Certificate of Authenticity that reflects this dating procedure.
Q: What does your Certificate of Authenticity look like and what does it include?
A:
Each Ancient Jade Artifact comes with a Certificate of Authenticity
attesting to its Dynasty, Description, Condition, and History. All Certificates of Authenticity bear a unique serial number and are placed in a collector’s database for future buys, sells, or exchanges that add to the investment potential of these very rare and sought after ancient treasures. To See Certificate of Authenticity Q: How accurate are your listings? A: I take great pride in making sure the jade treasures from my private collection are listed with accuracy. Each jade artifact has a very detailed Description, Condition and History that reflects 33 years of expertise.
Artifacts that exhibit damage or other irregularities including rare
qualities would be listed in my descriptions accordingly. A meticulous

6. MISCELLANEOUS
Q: Where does your collection of jades come from? A:
My
collection of jade is a result of my exploration of the ancient past and
my passion to find clues (artifacts) to an ancient lost civilization
that existed at the time of the earth’s last ice age. During the 1970’s
I traveled extensively to
Q: Why are you selling such a rare and valuable collection? A: I have been selling ancient jades and artifacts from my private collection for the past few years. I initially began selling my collection because I needed to pay for my children’s College education and my mounting health bills. Currently, I am proud to say that both of my girls have graduated. Sadly, I am still fighting with thyroid cancer and I hope that soon I can report positive results with a complete cure.
Q:
Does it emotionally hurt to sell your
jade collection?
A:
Yes it hurts me
deeply because many of these treasures I have held in my hands and
appreciated their beauty and rarity for decades. My greatest reward is
sharing the joy and excitement of treasure hunters who collect my
treasures. I have made many friends who have motivated me and inspired
me to share with the world the discoveries I have made in search of a
lost civilizations. Recently, I discovered a most significant
archeological discovery that I am sure you will be reading about in
archaeological journals.
Q: How can I bring out the color and the shininess of my ancient jade specimens? A: Jade is a mystical gemstone that enjoys to be touched. Rubbing jade with your fingers and touching it will naturally enhance its beauty and appearance. I only suggest to touch the smaller pieces that have been handled before. Touching too much can damage the ancient patina if you are not careful. For larger specimens, you could use a soft horse hair brush to polish it lightly. Be very careful with taking a mechanical brush to the jade as it can destroy the natural patina of the jade.
Removing patina from ancient jade
artifacts destroys the value and beauty of the artifact.

to learn more Q: I have seen some similar artifact that have almost identical motifs. Why is this? A: Many ancient Jade artifacts, were mass produced during ancient times. Also, many motifs were very popular during a certain era of Chinese history particularly the amulets and utensils. Although they may seem similar they have all been made by hand and they are still very rare. The larger artifacts you will discover are more rare and often one-of-a-kind due to the more complicated workmanship and rarity of jade gemstone material. Ritual ceremonial jade Objects were also produced in quantities in the imperial workshop as gifts for the feudal nobility, but these have become difficult to acquire due to scarcity and very high values. Therefore, similar specimens with the same design and shape are not uncommon. Keep in mind that they are still very limited in number and very scarce.
Q: Can polishing archaic jades damage value? A: Color and polish have always been a yard stick of value for jade. Ancient jade is a mystical gemstone that often times gains color and beauty when it is handled by a person of good Karma (ancient belief). Depending on your method of polishing (natural body oils from touch or synthetic oil), it may destroy the patina on some ancient jades that you may want to preserve, especially its archaistic look. You must make the judgment to determine your own personal taste. In these modern times the value of jade has different criteria such as ascetic beauty and rarity. I use a special process on many specimens in my collection. This is an ancient process that brings out the luster of the gemstone while still retaining the natural beauty of the patina. This is why you should always find an expert source to acquire ancient jades.
A: To gain expertise in ancient jade can only be acquired by direct experience. There are no schools or courses that you can attend and there are no short cuts to learning. I have spent over 30 years collecting and investing time, money and love into ancient jade. I have handled over 10,000 specimens and I am still learning! I was very fortunate to have had a Teacher like Wong Tien Chung who has guided me down The Jade Road for over 33 years. With his recent passing I am a student who now has become a master. Perhaps if you are blessed one day you too will have a teacher.
